BELFRY, Ky. (June 30, 2026 ) – The Kentucky State Police arrested five individuals following a traffic stop that led to the seizure of a large quantity of suspected illegal drugs. On June 25, 2026, troopers and investigators with Kentucky State Police Post 9 conducted a traffic stop on two vehicles believed to be traveling together in the Belfry community of Pike County. KSP Street Level Drug detectives had developed information indicating the vehicles were involved in transporting illegal drugs into Pike County. One vehicle was occupied by Howard Burris, Carnell Archery, and Zavion McCallister, all from Akron, Ohio, while the second vehicle was occupied by Isaac Chapman and Caltlin Griffith, both of Pike County. Both vehicles were towed to a secure location, where detectives and troopers conducted a follow-up search. During the search, investigators located suspected illegal drugs concealed inside the driver and passenger side door frames of the vehicle operated by Chapman. The investigation resulted in the seizure of approximately 2 pounds, 7 ounces of suspected methamphetamine and approximately 2.5 ounces of suspected fentanyl. The following individuals were arrested and charged in connection with the investigation: Howard Burris, 20, of Ohio, was arrested and lodged in the Pike County Detention Center on charges of Operating Motor Vehicle under the influence 1 st Degree, Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Trafficking Controlled Substance 1 st Offense (Methamphetamine), Trafficking Controlled Substance (Fentanyl), and other traffic related violations. Carnell Archery, 24, of Ohio, was arrested and lodged in the Pike County Detention Center on charges of Public Intoxication, Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Trafficking Controlled Substance 1 st Offense (Methamphetamine), Trafficking Controlled Substance (Fentanyl), and other Failure to Wear Seatbelt. Zavion McCallister, 23, of Ohio, was arrested and lodged in the Pike County Detention Center on charges of Public Intoxication, Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Trafficking Controlled Substance 1 st Offense (Methamphetamine), and Trafficking Controlled Substance (Fentanyl). Isaac Chapman, 28, of Pikeville, was arrested and lodged in the Pike County Detention Center on charges of Operating Motor Vehicle under the influence 1 st Degree, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Trafficking Controlled Substance 1 st Offense (Methamphetamine), Trafficking Controlled Substance (Fentanyl), and other traffic related violations. Caitlin Griffith, 27, of Pikeville, was arrested and lodged in the Pike County Detention Center on charges of Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Trafficking Controlled Substance 1 st Offense (Methamphetamine), and Trafficking Controlled Substance (Fentanyl).
